Bouznika will receive May 8th and 9th, 2010, first edition of the Festival of the Arts of Méchoui and of the grilled meat: "Barbecue Fest".
The lovers of Moroccan Gastronomy and more especially the devoted admirers of the méchoui, will be able, the time of weekend, to discover authentic méchouis and savour of tasty exotic grilled meat of all corners of the world.

The organisation of such demonstration answers a double objective. First of all, it is to safeguard and to promote one of the most refined festive arts of Moroccan gastronomy, notably in its regional variants. Then, it is a question of favouring exchange between the people across the participation of more than fifteen foreign countries in this event. In this perspective, a national competition of the best méchoui will be organised the first dayof this demonstration.
Participants' about twenty all regions of Morocco will be in competition to prepare and to introduce in front of the public and the specialised, the best méchoui jury of Morocco.The first day will also see presentation and tastings of dishes and dish exotic given by countries participants. The second day of this Festival will be devoted to the try to beat the Guinness World Record from biggest Mixed Grill of the world. This try constitutes the biggest attraction of this first edition of the Barbecue Fest’ and will take place under the supervision of a Vendor Guinness dispatched especially by London to certify record according to norms of Guinness.
50.000 waited festival-goers will be able, the time of weekend, to go out in family, eat, teach, have a good time, participate in Competition «Better Creation Amateur Barbecue», or even even win prices. In this sense, several activities are envisaged outside this festival,
notably, of animation for children, shows, areas of restoration and of family picnic …
This event will be raised by the presence of Moroccan officials, diplomatic representatives accredited in Morocco and of personalities of different horizons and will benefit from a broad cover of national and foreign media. In other words, this event offers to celebrate friendliness, tradition, authenticity, exchange, to promote the heritage of the land and to make of "Barbecue Fest" a reference in the international culinary landscape and an annual inseparable appointment of the picture of the city.
